ParAnthropE

In the past decade, there has been increasing focus on the selection that human activities impose on wild populations – and how this can affect their evolutionary trajectories.

In ParAnthropE we focus on parasites and pathogens: how, and to what extent, do anthropogenic factors drive their evolution? To address these questions we have developed tagging techniques for parasites that allow us to adopt an approach otherwise well-known by evolutionary ecologists: population monitoring, mark-recapture, and the analysis of longitudinal data.

This project is funded via the FRIPRO program of the Research Council of Norway.
